Discrete Grab Samples

The Operations and Maintenance (O&M) field divisions regularly collect discrete, or grab, samples at 27 sites along the SWP. Some sampling sites are monitored for a select few compounds while others are monitored for over 200 chemicals. Sampling sites and analyte groups are shown on the most recent sampling schedule.

Results of the water quality monitoring are found in DWR's Water Data Library.

Additionally, O&M Water Quality Section staff prepare monthly summary reports of grab sample chemicals at key SWP locations. Pesticide data for key SWP locations are generally available for the months of March, June, and September. Water Quality Section staff prepare pesticide tables summarizing data on detected pesticides concentrations. Both report tables are provided to the Operations Control Center and are published in the Monthly Operations Reports.
