Meeting of the California Water Commission - September 20, 2023

This meeting of the California Water Commission will be conducted as an in-person tour of multiple State-operated facilities. Remote participation opportunities are not available for this meeting. All meeting/tour locations will be open to the public; additional information about specific locations and times is listed below under agenda items 7 and 8. All times listed below are approximate. Tours will involve moving around the facilities; comfortable clothing and shoes are recommended. All tour locations are ADA accessible. Members of the public are responsible for their own transportation.

This is an opportunity for elected Tribal leaders and formally designated Tribal representatives to identify themselves and to specify the agenda item(s) on which they will comment, as described in the Commission’s California Native American Tribal Leadership Comment Policy.

4. Approval of August 16, 2023, Meeting Minutes

5. Commission Member Reports

This is an opportunity for members to disclose any meetings or conversations related to Commission business and held since the previous Commission meeting.

6. Public Testimony

Although no formal Commission action will be taken, the Commission offers an opportunity for the public to address the Commission on items of interest that are within the Commission’s jurisdiction, but that do not appear on the agenda.

7. Oroville Dam Spillways Tour

Department of Water Resources (DWR) staff will lead the Commission on a tour of the Oroville Dam spillways, which were redesigned and reconstructed after they were damaged by erosion in February 2017.

8. Feather River Hatchery Tour

DWR staff will lead the Commission on a tour of the Feather River Fish Hatchery, which was constructed as part of the Oroville Dam complex and benefits Central Valley Steelhead and spring and fall-run Chinook Salmon.
