The State Water Project’s (SWP) reservoirs located throughout California kick off this summer with high water levels. When recreating at SWP facilities, you should always keep water safety as a top priority and stay alert of cold, fast, and fluctuating water conditions.

DWR is increasing releases from Lake Oroville to the Feather River this week due to heavier snowmelt inflows into the reservoir. Flows to the Feather River will increase to 18,000 cubic feet per second (cfs) today with 6,500 cfs flowing through the low-flow channel within the City of Oroville.
DWR and multiple state, federal, and local agencies are working together to prepare for the snowmelt and protect communities from flooding.
